Do you work for corporates full-time?

No, I do not. I work as a technical writer and as an independent Python AI Engineer and Rust Systems Engineer. While I have published 500+ articles online, the demand for writers has dried up with AI tools, so I am upskilling in Rust and AI Engineering. Currently, I work as a Generative AI Consultant with expertise in Python and Rust, at international prices—with discounts for selected clients (see below). However, I plan to start dev work only by Jan 2027.

Do you offer country-wise parity pricing for your services?

Absolutely! I offer 25% off for Tier 2 countries and 50% off for Tier 3 countries according to the UN country-wise income classification. Contact me on LinkedIn (linkedin.com/in/thomascherickal) for further price reductions; I understand that developing nations face severe financial constraints.

Is there a discount for startups?

Yes. In addition to the parity pricing, I offer 50% off to startups that have not yet received funding. On a case-by-case basis, I am also open to payment in equity—but in that case, the 50% off rule does not apply.

Are you open to long-term contracts?

Yes. For continued consulting, I am willing to work with companies for six months or more, depending on the payment and the mutual benefit to both parties. I still wish to remain a consultant only, however.

Where are you based, and how do engagements work?

I am based in Chennai, India, and I work with clients worldwide on a remote basis—and the time zones are never a blocker. Message me on LinkedIn(linkedin.com/in/thomascherickal) for a custom quote.

You have another profile site at thomascherickal.github.io. Why two sites?

Actually, thomascherickal.com is the canonical site for my links and my new articles. thomascherickal.github.io is my business profile, with prices, services lists, and contact details. The two sites serve two different purposes.

Are you open to development work?

Yes—from January 2027. From then on, I am open to development and refactoring work in Python, Rust, AI Engineering, and Open-Source Tech, at discounts not matched by big tech companies. Until then, I am taking on consulting and technical writing while I build my own open-source projects. Check my GitHub (github.com/thomascherickal) in January 2027—by then I hope to have a substantial number of open-source projects to show you!

What Python development work do you take on?

LLM-powered applications, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, AI agents and agentic workflows, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, and local AI deployments that keep your data on your own hardware. Development starts in January 2027; consulting on architecture, model selection, and AI strategy is available right now.

What Rust development work do you take on?

Performance-critical systems work—small-model inference engines, fast command-line tools, and moving slow Python hot paths into Rust (for example, through PyO3 bindings) so your AI stack runs faster on the same hardware. Rust development also starts in January 2027.

Why Python and Rust together?

Python is where the AI ecosystem lives—almost every major model, framework, and library ships for Python first. Rust is where speed, memory safety, and predictable performance live. Prototype in Python. Ship the bottlenecks in Rust. You get both from one consultant.

Can you help us run AI locally, without sending data to the cloud?

Yes. Local AI is one of my core areas—I run local models on my own constrained hardware every day. I can help you choose, quantize, and deploy open-weight models that run entirely on your own machines, so sensitive data never leaves your premises.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes. I am happy to sign an NDA before we discuss the details of your project.

What content and technical writing services do you offer?

Long-form technical articles, tutorials, explainers, research and comparison pieces, and documentation—on Generative AI, LLMs, AI Agents, Local AI, Quantum Computing, Quantum AI, Blockchain, Web3, and Cybersecurity.
